More than ever, it’s necessary to keep your immune system strong and robust. With the growing concerns of the Corona virus (Covid-19) people are looking for anything and everything to help stay healthy. Can Qigong practice and the principles of Qigong be helpful for building resilience in body and mind? Absolutely!

There is a real threat to health and wellness, but there is also reason to stay calm and grounded. It is important to stay clear minded and maintain perspective during these stressful times.

If we are attached to news sources such as the WHO and the CDC we can be fairly certain that we are receiving accurate and helpful information. But, if we are gathering information from inflammatory news sources, we can become stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed.

Qigong for healthy immune systemShould we be concerned about our immune system?

There is actually need for concern – depending on your particular lifestyle.

If you:

  • live a healthy lifestyle
  • practice good hygiene
  • live independently

your worry of contracting illness is much lower than if you:

  • eat poorly
  • don’t exercise
  • smoke
  • have a weak immune system
  • don’t practice good hygiene
  • and live in a highly congested area.

Patients and clients have been expressing their concern about getting sick and want to know what they can do to stay healthy. In this video I will discuss a ‘mindset practice’ that can really help!

Qigong and the Immune System

By now, I am sure you already know the importance of what can be called, “Basic Skills.” This would be things such as:

  • eating real foods
  • getting some exercise and movement
  • getting adequate sleep
  • managing stress
  • washing your hands
  • avoid touching your face
  • avoid being coughed and sneezed on 🙂

But, we need a little more…

Qigong Mindset

Beyond this, we need the right “mindset” to be fully healthy. This is not just positive thinking, or being optimistic – it’s a way of guiding and training the mind so that it can operate in a grounded, strong, resilient, kind, and compassionate way.

For some this is a natural state, others have to work at it. But, when we can manage our mind, emotions, and thoughts, we learn to guide and direct our qi to help our body be fully healthy.
